Chrome diopside is not a very romantic sounding name, but the gemstone itself is absolutely stunning and rivals the beauty of more expensive stones like emerald, green tourmaline, or tsavorite garnet. An interesting fact about this gemstone is that the larger the stone, the darker its color. Because of this factor, large stones don’t make for good jewelry as they can be nearly black in color. For the best chrome diopside color, the gemstone needs to be under 2 carats.
