Chrome Diopside Engagement Ring
Chrome Diopside Engagement Ring
This gorgeous rhodium-plated 925 sterling silver engagement ring is set with 0.89 carats of stunning natural chrome diopside!
Chrome diopside is one of the newest gemstones on the market but, although initially seen as a collector’s gemstone, it has very quickly grown to become one of the most popular green gemstones for jewelry. Although rare, chrome diopside is surprisingly affordable, so if you're looking for a beautiful engagement ring that won't break the bank, then this is the perfect stone for you.
Chrome diopside is not a very romantic sounding name, but the gemstone itself is absolutely stunning and rivals the beauty of more expensive stones like emerald, green tourmaline, or tsavorite garnet. An interesting fact about this gemstone is that the larger the stone, the darker its color. Because of this factor, large stones don’t make for good jewelry as they can be nearly black in color. For the best chrome diopside color, the gemstone needs to be under 2 carats.
This ring features five stunning green chrome diopside gemstones. The oval cut stones measure 5x3mm and 4x3mm, and the round cut stones measure 3mm in diameter.
★ WHY OPT FOR RHODIUM PLATING? ★
Rhodium is a rare, silver-white hard metal in the platinum family. It’s highly reflective and holds the distinction of being one of the most expensive precious metals in the world.
As an inert or noble metal (meaning that it’s resistant to corrosion and oxidation in moist air), rhodium also increases the durability of any jewelry it plates.
Rhodium plating is often added onto white gold or silver jewelry (and engagement and wedding bands in particular) to increase shine, luster and durability. Rhodium plating will also make the metal more scratch resistant and, when used on silver jewelry, less prone to tarnishing.
Another benefit of rhodium plating is it’s nickel free, making it hypoallergenic.
★ SIZING ★
To ensure you order the right size, you can either use a previous ring, visit a jeweler, or use a simple ring sizer. We recommend having your finger sized by a jeweler prior to ordering, as this is the most accurate way to find out your ring size. Many jewelers actually offer their ring sizing services for free. To get the most accurate size, we recommend visiting at least two different jewelers.
